3-car accident in Cobb County leaves 1 dead

Car accidents can cause serious injuries and have fatal consequences, but it is not always immediately obvious why they have occurred. Police are investigating a fatal car accident that took place at in Cobb County on Dec. 7 at the intersection of Cobb Parkway and Akers Mill Road.

According to investigators, the victim was a driver who had stopped in a turning lane and afterwards drove off into the intersection. It is not known why the driver proceeded in this manner. Shortly after the driver entered the intersection, his car was hit by two other cars.

The driver was taken to the hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival. Investigators suspect a possible health issue because of the way the man drove into the intersection.

One of the other drivers refused medical treatment at the scene while the third was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
