An airport shuttle that takes passengers from Georgia’s Atlanta-Hartsfield International Airport slammed into a tractor-trailer on May 24. Over a dozen passengers sustained injuries. Those who were injured in the truck accident were taken to hospitals in the area.
The shuttle bus rear-ended the tractor-trailer when the truck was turning around on Loop Road. The authorities do not yet know the speed of the shuttle bus at the time of the accident, but an officer from the College Park police department stated that the shuttle bus spun out for more than 150 feet prior to striking the truck.
The shuttle bus operator, MTI Limo & Shuttle Services, Inc., have received many violations in the previous two years. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration received reports about these violations. The shuttle buses owned by the company had vehicle maintenance violations, and a previous driver for the shuttle bus company did not carry a required medical certificate.
The area hospitals that took in the injured, Grady Memorial Hospital and Atlanta Medical Center, released most of the passengers after they received treatment. A few of the injured passengers remain in the hospital for treatment or observation, including a 12-year-old boy.
The passengers who received injuries in this truck accident may have a valid cause of action against the shuttle bus company or the truck driver.
