An Atlanta woman was the cause of a fatal car crash in Midtown Atlanta on the Downtown Connection on July 6th around 3:30 p.m. The driver, who was placed under arrest, was traveling on the HOV lane south of the 17th Street Bridge when the accident occurred.
Authorities state that the negligent driver rear ended the victim's vehicle, causing it to flip and eject the two passengers from the vehicle. Unfortunately, the driver of the car did not survive the car wreck and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passengers of the car survived and were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital to treat their injuries. The negligent driver was unscathed by the accident and was taken to the Fulton County Jail and charged with 2nd degree homicide by vehicle as well as failure to maintain lane.
Fatal accidents such as this not only cause pain and suffering to those involved, but also to family members who are left to deal with the loss of a loved one. A fatal car crash can alter a family's life and cause hardships that they will have to struggle with. They may feel helpless and not know where to turn to for help. Fortunately, a personal injury attorney with experience handling negligent car wrecks will know exactly what avenues to take to help with this type of situation. While compensation will not bring back your loved ones, it can help minimize the impact of the tragedy. An attorney will be able to advise family members as to whether they will be able to bring a claim for compensation, funeral expenses and medical costs incurred.
