An Atlanta woman was the cause of a fatal car crash in Midtown Atlanta on the Downtown Connection on July 6th around 3:30 p.m. The driver, who was placed under arrest, was traveling on the HOV lane south of the 17th Street Bridge when the accident occurred.
Authorities state that the negligent driver rear ended the victim’s vehicle, causing it to flip and eject the two passengers from the vehicle. Unfortunately, the driver of the car did not survive the car wreck and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The passengers of the car survived and were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital to treat their injuries. The negligent driver was unscathed by the accident and was taken to the Fulton County Jail and charged with 2nd degree homicide by vehicle as well as failure to maintain lane.
