Georgia collision between truck and car kills two

On Behalf of | Nov 5, 2014 | Truck Accidents

When on the road in Rome and throughout Georgia, drivers need to be vigilant of the presence of large trucks on the road. These vehicles are heavy, massive and can cause a significant amount of damage if there is a collision, especially if it is with a smaller vehicle. While in most instances, a truck driver is cautious and operates his or her vehicle safely, there are times when the driver might have been driving too long without a break, is speeding or violating some other law leading to a semi truck accident. Even if the driver is operating the vehicle safely, circumstances can lead to a crash.

An accident occurred between a car and a tractor trailer at approximately 7:30 a.m. killing two people. A 35-year-old woman was pulling her vehicle out onto the road when it was hit on the passenger side by a truck. Both the driver and her passenger — her 10-year-old daughter — were declared dead at the scene. Her 5-year-old daughter was in the backseat and was flown to the hospital for treatment. After the accident investigation, the driver of the truck was released.

No matter the reason, a truck crash can have long-lasting consequences with injuries and fatalities. Those who were hurt will face large medical costs, the possible need for extensive care and will perhaps face the prospect of never returning to normal. With a fatality, there is the chance that it was a child who was killed, a parent a grandparent or some other integral member of a family. Not only will there be emotional issues coming to terms with a semi truck accident, but financial and personal ones as well. It is imperative that a full and independent accident investigation be conducted soon after the crash happened in the event that the family would like to consider litigation to receive compensation for their losses in a collision.

In this accident, a woman and her 10-year-old daughter were killed when their car was hit by a tractor trailer. The woman’s 5-year-old was injured. Nothing can assuage the pain the family left behind must deal with, but a legal filing can help with medical expenses and assist them in moving forward. For advice on how to pursue a case, they should contact and discuss the matter with a legal professional experienced in truck crashes.
