Car accidents are a common occurrence in America, and they can bring serious consequences. But when bicycles and larger vehicles, like trucks or buses, are involved, things can become very dangerous. In worst case scenarios, a fatality could result. If one of your family members suffered a wrongful death, you may be eligible for compensation. Knowing your right is half the battle.
A resident of Paulding County was killed on Nov. 21 around 12:30 p.m. after a serious car wreck. A charter bus struck the man, 31, when he was out riding his bicycle south of Redtop Mountain. He was cycling north on US-41 when the fatal accident occurred. He was critically injured and taken immediately to WellStar Kennestone Hospital, located in Marietta. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
There are no further details yet, but it’s possible that this could be a case of wrongful death.
The man, an avid cyclist, was a father of three and worked as a pastor at a church in Dallas, Georgia.
With three children left behind, they will need to be taken care of and their best interests are important. If the driver of the bus is found to be at fault, it’s possible the man’s widow and children could be awarded damages if they pursue a wrongful death lawsuit. Losing a loved one is always a difficult, and having the best possible legal tools at your disposal is paramount.
