Three accidents in the Moultrie area have caused seven area residents to be injured. A 62 year old woman remains in the hospital. She was involved in the most serious car accident that police released reports on in mid-May.
The woman was driving her vehicle northbound on Highway 33 toward the intersection at Highway 133. The other driver, a 43 year old woman, was approaching Highway 133 from the east in her vehicle. Both drivers entered the intersection together, and the younger woman attempted to brake in time, but failed. The fire department removed the older woman from her vehicle, and transported her to the hospital. The younger driver and her three passengers were taken to the hospital where records show they were treated and released.
The second accident reported in the area was a 41 year old man who was thrown into a ditch on Old Berlin Road after loosing control of his Suzuki motorcycle. Police at the scene speculate that he may have hit some rocks while making a turn. The third accident was a hit and run on Veterans Parkway. A woman driving a Honda Civic was rear ended by a white male in a Dodge Ram truck. A witness followed the truck and saw him drive into the woods. Police searched the wooded area and found the truck sitting on the train tracks. The driver, a 29 year old man, was hiding underneath the truck. He was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident and following too closely.
If an individual has suffered injuries in a car accident, he or she might find it helpful to allow a personal injury attorney to review the case. It may be possible for an attorney to negotiate a settlement that covers future medical expenses along with pain and suffering.
