Concussion suffered in a Georgia car accident are brain injuries

On Behalf of | Oct 28, 2015 | Car accidents

There was a time when suffering a concussion was not seen as a terribly dangerous health issue. In many cases, the Georgian was said to have had their “bell rung,” or some other nonchalant idiom. Perhaps, they were even just recommended to took an aspirin. But, as many of our Georgia readers have probably seen in the last few years of news coverage on concussions, these are indeed brain injuries that need to be taken seriously.

It is not uncommon for a person who is involved in a car accident to suffer a concussion. Many car accidents will involve a violent jarring of the people inside the vehicles, which could lead to a collision involving a person’s head and some part of the interior of the car. Georgia residents who are injured in an auto accident in this manner may feel a range of different symptoms.

Of course, all concussions are different, and people who suffer concussions will experience the injury differently. Nonetheless, there are some symptoms that are common among individuals who suffer a concussion.

Nausea is a common reaction to this type of injury, which could lead to vomiting. A feeling of weakness or confusion is also common, as is a lack of coordination or balance. However, a headache of some intensity is probably the most common symptom of a concussion.

Anyone who has been in a car accident that was caused by a negligent driver should probably be on the lookout for these symptoms in the days and weeks after the accident. Concussion symptoms are not always immediately felt. It could be later on that the injury manifests in physical symptoms.
