LaGrange motorcycle accident leaves 2 injured

On Behalf of | Nov 20, 2012 | Motorcycle Accidents

Georgia motorcyclists need to be particularly alert when riding along the streets and highways. Although car drivers are supposed to drive vigilantly, all too often they do not. Sometimes drivers open doors unexpectedly or fail to look carefully both ways before driving through an intersection, leading to accidents that can leave motorcycle riders with serious and sometimes catastrophic injuries.

The driver of a motorcycle had to be flown to the hospital after getting into an accident with a PT Cruiser last week. The motorcycle accident occurred in LaGrange at the corner of Greenville Street and Lafayette Parkway.

According to the police, the man was driving west on Lafayette Parkway on a motorcycle when the driver of the PT Cruiser suddenly pulled out in front of him. The motorcyclist hit the side of the vehicle. Officers were not certain where the man was flown, but the car driver was taken to West Georgia Medical Center.

It is unknown who is at fault for the accident. If the driver of the PT Cruiser is found to be the negligent party, he may be liable for the motorcyclist’s medical bills, damage to the bike and long-term treatment of any permanent disability the man suffers as a result of the motorcycle collision. Depending on the circumstances of the accident, the car driver may also be ticketed for failure to yield or being a negligent driver. Accident victims may find it helpful to speak with an attorney if they are considering filing a personal injury claim.
